Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place phone on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Use Ethernet cable from switch/router to phone's LAN port.
  2. Connect PC (optional): Use second Ethernet cable from phone's PC port to computer.
  3. Connect Handset: Plug coiled handset cord into jack marked with handset icon.
  4. Apply Power: Use PoE from switch or connect the external power adapter to the DC jack.

WARNING! Use only the approved Mitel power adapter. Ensure cables are securely connected to avoid disconnection.

First-Time Setup

Phone will boot and attempt to obtain network configuration via DHCP.

  1. Network Registration: Ensure phone receives an IP address. Check via Menu > Status.
  2. Server Configuration: Phone may auto-provision from Mitel MiVoice Business server. Contact administrator for server address if manual setup is required.
  3. User Configuration: Extension number and password are typically assigned by system administrator.
  4. Basic Settings: Set language, time/date format, and ring tones via the Options menu.

CAUTION! Do not unplug during boot or firmware upgrade process.

Connecting to Network

Primary connection is via Ethernet. Supports daisy-chaining a PC.

  1. Ensure network switch/router is powered and operational.
  2. Connect Ethernet cable from network jack to phone's LAN port.
  3. For PC pass-through, connect cable from phone's PC port to computer's network port.
  4. Power on phone. The Ethernet LED should illuminate.

Tip: Use Cat5e or better cables for reliable PoE and data performance.

Basic Call Operations

Making, answering, and managing calls.

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset or press Speakerphone, then dial number. Or use a programmed Speed Dial key.
  2. Answer a Call: Lift handset, press Speakerphone, or press the flashing line key.
  3. End a Call: Hang up handset or press Speakerphone key.
  4. Hold: Press Hold key during a call. Press Resume or the held line key to retrieve.
  5. Mute: Press Mute key to toggle microphone on/off. MUTE LED illuminates when active.
  6. Adjust Volume: Use Volume keys during a call for handset/speaker volume, or at idle for ringer volume.
  7. Call Transfer: Press Transfer, dial target number, announce call, then press Transfer again to complete.

WARNING! Do not use excessive force on keys or handset cradle.

Advanced Features

Call Forwarding: Program via menu or programmable key to forward calls to another number.

Conference Calls: Use Conference feature to add multiple parties to a single call.

Call History: Access missed, received, and dialed calls list from the main menu.

Directory: Store personal contacts in phone memory (capacity varies).

Headset Operation: Plug in headset to use for all call functions. Toggle between headset and handset/speakerphone.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or sprays directly on the phone.

CAUTION! Avoid getting moisture into openings (handset ports, keypad). Keep away from extreme heat and direct sunlight.
