Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable desk surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug Ethernet cable from your network switch into the LAN port.
  2. Connect PC (Optional): Plug your computer into the PC port for pass-through networking.
  3. Connect Handset: Plug the coiled handset cord into the HANDSET port.
  4. Connect Headset (Optional): Plug optional headset into the HEADSET port.
  5. Apply Power: Use the included power adapter OR ensure PoE is enabled on your network switch.

WARNING! Use only the provided or approved power adapter. Ensure cables are routed to avoid tripping hazards.

First-Time Setup

Power on the phone; it will attempt to boot and register with the phone system.

  1. Initial Boot: Wait for the phone to complete its startup sequence.
  2. Network Configuration: The phone may obtain an IP address automatically via DHCP. Check the display for the assigned IP.
  3. System Registration: The phone will attempt to register with the configured call server (pre-provisioned or auto-discovered).
  4. Verify Registration: A steady green light on the line key indicates successful registration.
  5. Set User Preferences: Use the Options menu to set language, time/date, ring tones, and volume levels.

CAUTION! Do not unplug the phone during firmware updates as indicated on the display.

Controls and Settings

Access menus via the NAVIGATION CLUSTER and soft keys. Front Panel: MESSAGE key, HOLD key, NAVIGATION cluster, Volume keys, MUTE key, HEADSET key, SPEAKER key.

Soft Keys & Display: Context-sensitive soft keys appear below the display for features like Transfer, Conference, Directory.

Options Menu: Access via the "Options" soft key or dedicated key. Settings include: User (Language, Password), Audio (Tones, Volume), Network (IP Settings, VLAN), System (Firmware, Restart). Programmable Keys: Configure via the web interface or phone system administration for line appearances, speed dials, BLF (Busy Lamp Field).

Connecting to Network

LAN: Connect to network switch. PC: Use pass-through port. Power: PoE or adapter.

  1. Ensure network switch and phone system are powered and operational.
  2. Connect the Ethernet cable from the wall jack/switch to the phone's LAN port.
  3. For a daisy-chained computer, connect a cable from the phone's PC port to the computer's network port.
  4. If not using PoE, connect the power adapter to the DC IN port and an AC outlet.
  5. The phone will boot and attempt network registration.

Tip: Use the "Settings > Status" menu on the phone to verify IP address and registration state.

Basic Call Handling

Supports making, receiving, and managing calls.

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset or press SPEAKER/HEADSET. Dial number using the keypad. Press the DIAL soft key or wait for auto-dial.
  2. Answer a Call: Press the flashing line key, lift handset, or press SPEAKER/HEADSET.
  3. End a Call: Hang up handset or press the END CALL soft key/SPEAKER key.
  4. Hold: Press the HOLD key during a call. Press the held line key or RESUME to retrieve.
  5. Mute: Press MUTE key during a call to mute your microphone. Press again to unmute.
  6. Adjust Volume: Use the VOLUME UP/DOWN keys during a call for handset/speaker volume, or when idle for ringer volume.
  7. Redial: Press the REDIAL soft key or dial ** to call the last number dialed.

WARNING! Do not use excessive force on the keys or handset cradle.

Advanced Features

Call Transfer: During a call, press TRANSFER, dial the target number, and press TRANSFER again or hang up. Conference: During a call, press CONFERENCE, dial the second party, press CONFERENCE again to join all parties. Call Forward: Access via the Features menu or soft key to forward calls to another number. Do Not Disturb (DND): Press the DND soft key or enable via menu to silence calls. Directory: Access the corporate or personal directory via the DIR soft key. Message Waiting: LED indicator and display icon show new voicemails.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the phone. For stubborn marks, dampen cloth slightly with water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

CAUTION! Never spray liquids directly onto the phone. Keep liquids away from all openings.

Troubleshooting
