Installation & Physical Setup

Unpack phone and accessories. Choose a stable, well-ventilated location.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug Ethernet cable from your network switch into the phone's LAN port.
  2. Connect Computer (optional): Use a second Ethernet cable from phone's PC port to your computer.
  3. Connect Handset: Plug coiled handset cord into jack marked with handset icon.
  4. Power the Phone: Use Power over Ethernet (PoE) from switch, or connect optional AC power adapter.
  5. Connect Headset (optional): Plug into 2.5mm headset jack.

WARNING! Use only approved power adapters. Ensure cables are securely connected.

First-Time Configuration

Once powered, the phone will boot and attempt to obtain network configuration.

  1. Check Network Registration: Observe display for IP address and registration status.
  2. Configure Extension/Line: Typically auto-provisioned by system administrator. Manual entry via Options menu may be required.
  3. Set Language & Time: Use the Options menu (press the Options key) to set display language and time/date format.

Connecting to Network & Peripherals

Network: LAN port to network switch. PC: PC port to computer for pass-through.

  3. For PoE, verify your network switch provides 802.3af power.
  4. For headset, use a Mitel-approved 2.5mm headset.

Basic Call Handling

Making and receiving calls.

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset or press Speaker/Headset key. Dial number using keypad. Press Dial softkey or wait for auto-dial.
  2. Answer a Call: Lift handset, press Speaker, press Headset, or press the flashing line key.
  3. End a Call: Replace handset or press the Speaker/EndCall key.
  4. Hold: Press Hold key during a call. Press the held line's key to retrieve.
  5. Mute: Press Mute key to mute your microphone. LED lights when active.
  6. Adjust Volume: Use volume rocker during a call for handset/speaker volume, or when idle for ringer volume.
  7. Redial: Press Redial key to call the last dialed number.

NOTE: Feature availability depends on system configuration.

Advanced Features & Programmable Keys

Programmable Keys: Can be set as Line Keys, Speed Dial Keys, or Feature Keys (e.g., Call Forward, Do Not Disturb). Configure via the Options menu or by system administrator.

Common Features: Call Forward (All Calls, Busy, No Answer), Call Transfer (Blind, Consultative), 3-Party Conference, Call Park, Pickup (Group, Directed), Do Not Disturb, Message Waiting Indicator.

Accessing Voicemail: Press the Message key or dial your voicemail access number.

Care & Maintenance
