Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place phone on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug Ethernet cable from your network switch into the LAN port on the phone.
  2. Connect a Computer (Optional): Use a second Ethernet cable from the PC port on the phone to your computer.
  3. Connect Handset: Plug the coiled handset cord into the jack marked with a handset icon.
  4. Power the Phone: Use Power over Ethernet (PoE) from your switch, or connect the optional external power adapter to the DC port.

WARNING! Use only the approved Mitel power adapter. Ensure cables are routed to avoid tripping hazards.

First-Time Setup

Once powered, the phone will boot and attempt to contact the provisioning server.

  1. Network Registration: The phone should automatically obtain an IP address and register with the Mitel system.
  2. Verify Extension: Your extension number and name should appear on the display.
  3. Set Language: Press the Options key, navigate to User Preferences, and select Language.
  4. Adjust Audio: Use the volume keys to set comfortable levels for the ringer, handset, and speaker.
  5. Program Keys: Consult your system administrator to configure programmable keys for your needs.

CAUTION! Do not unplug the phone during the boot and registration process.

Connecting to Network

  1. Use a standard CAT5e or higher Ethernet cable.
  2. Connect the LAN port to a live network jack on your PoE-enabled switch.
  3. The phone will power on. The display will show boot progress and then your extension.
  4. For daisy-chaining a computer, connect a cable from the PC port to your computer's network port.

Tip: If using an external power adapter, connect it after the Ethernet cable is secured.

Basic Call Handling

Making and receiving calls.

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset or press SPEAKER. Dial number using the keypad. Press the corresponding LINE key if multiple lines are configured.
  2. Answer a Call: Lift handset, press SPEAKER, or press the flashing LINE key.
  3. End a Call: Replace handset or press the SPEAKER or ENDCALL soft key.
  4. Hold: Press HOLD key during a call. Press the held line's key to retrieve.
  5. Mute: Press MUTE key during a call to turn microphone off. Press again to resume.
  6. Adjust Volume: Use VOLUME up/down keys during a call for listening volume, or when idle for ringer volume.

WARNING! Do not use excessive force on the keypad or handset cord.

Advanced Features

Transfer: Press TRANSFER, dial the transfer-to number, announce the call (optional), press TRANSFER again to complete. Conference: During a call, press CONFERENCE, dial the third party, wait for answer, press CONFERENCE again to join all parties. Call Forwarding: Press CFwd soft key or access via User Preferences menu to activate/deactivate. Do Not Disturb: Press DND soft key to silence calls; callers may hear busy signal or go to voicemail. Directory: Press Dir soft key to access personal and corporate directories.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the casing and display. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or sprays directly on the phone.

CAUTION! Never allow moisture to enter openings. Keep liquids away from the device.
